Sea Meets Sky

If I hadn't discovered these photos via Colorado Homes & Lifestyles, I would have sworn the house was in New England! For good reason though, as the owners lived in Massachusetts for many years before moving to Denver. Interior Nan Procknow and architect Don Ruggles worked to execute their vision of a new home inspired by their summers spent on the coast. I love the soft blue and green color scheme throughout the home. The glass tiles on the backsplash are gorgeous! Don't miss the rest of the home here!

Jim Howard

I'm so not alone in the blogosphere when it comes to loving this space designed by Jim Howard and photographed by Franscesco Lagnese. House Beautiful actually featured much more of the amazing home, but this romantic bedroom was my absolute favorite. I know this isn't the best photo in the world, so head over here to see more of this gorgeous beach home!

Just a sidenote: we're getting pretty close to the wedding here...16 days to be exact!! (Eek! So exciting!) My posts might be a little more sparse than usual from here on out, and regrettably some emails may be falling through the cracks. I'll make it up to you with wedding photos though, I promise! Actually we just had our engagement photos taken last night. (We waited until the very end, I know, but around here the snow is finally losing its battle against the sun!) And yes, there was turquoise!! :)

Around the World

You know it's going to be a good day when you learn that Designers Guild has new stuff! These photos actually showcase one of their new collections, Around the World, that I learned about from my friends over at Hirshfield's Color Club. I know it's not a ton of turquoise, but doesn't even just littlest bit make any room better?! These are entirely cheery and fun! Marsha actually shared quite a bit of eye candy and inspiration, so head here for more!

Libby Langdon

I love how designer Libby Langdon manages to incorporate a slight nautical theme into this Newport, Rhode Island guestroom, while keeping the look simple and elegant. I just want to crack open the door and listen to the waves! Don't you agree the gorgeous wall color is such a great complement to the crisp bedding? You don't want to miss out on the rest of the home, I know you'll LOVE it, so head on over here!

Stacey Haines

Remember that adorable coastal cottage from last week belonging to the talented photographer Stacey Haines? Well I've got more images to share from her! This story from Canadian Home & Country actually won Stacey a National Magazine Gold Award in Canada. She not only shot the story, but pitched the idea and produced the shoot. The cute cabin in Nova Scotia actually belongs to her parents and their family did the makeover together, so winning this award was super special to her! Read more about this cozy getaway here and view more amazing photography from Stacey here!

Heavenly Hideaway

I'll don't think I will ever get tired of seeing the Ikea canopy bed, especially all dolled up with flowing curtains like this! This adorable room that was featured in At Home in Arkansas belongs to the daughter of Jennifer and Jeff of Herron Horton Architects and is the perfect hideaway, no matter your age! I love the fresh color palette of the bedding against all the white, not to mention the colorful design on those fab pillow shams. Those windows look pretty incredible too!

Garry Mertins

Dream bath alert! Little Rock designer Garry Mertins created this soothing spa-like retreat that was featured in At Home in Atlanta and photographed by Nancy Nolan. I love that a custom wall color was created to match the existing tile. (I always get so sad when people want to get rid of turquoise tile!) My favorite feature here, other than the color, is the overflowing soaking tub. What I'd give to fill my bathtub up to the brim and soak away the day! Read more about this tranquil space here!

I cannot thank you guys enough for all the comments and emails yesterday! I was on Cloud 9 all day long, couldn't stop smiling! Your kind words only made me that much happier! THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! :D

Elizabeth Sullivan Design

Just because I'm engaged now doesn't mean I've got nurseries on my mind! But when I first saw this amazing one by New Orleans designer Elizabeth Sullivan, I have to admit my ovaries did hurt a little! It's just exactly the sort of space I would want to have for my own little one some day. Full of fun color, lots of texture and cozy layers. How cool are those aqua stripes on the ceiling?? And the wall of books?! Genius! Elizabeth actually has her own blog too that I love...check it out here!

Exciting News!!!

Ok so really I just want to tell you my big news, I can't wait much longer, but how awesome is this bed I found in the October issue of 25 Beautiful Homes?! To have an upholstered bed like that...what a dream!

Now my news! Last night I got engaged!!! I still can't believe it! The last 14 months of my life with Chris have been the best of my life. I never thought I'd meet anyone like him...a heart so filled with absolute kindness and enthusiasm. And so cute and smart too! I feel like the luckiest girl ever. Talk about a total surprise...never in a million years did I think that would happen, like it did, yesterday of all days. But it was perfect, so us. I'm so happy. So so so happy!!! And so so so excited!!!

Someone pinch me...I still can't believe it!!!

Tobi Fairley Does it Again!

I fell hard for this gorgeous kitchen and family room when I saw it on Tobi Fairley's blog (where she even shared before'n'afters!) Bless her heart because she created a whole page with details on how to give our own spaces this family-friendly look. Isn't the velvet polka-dot fabric on the back of the chairs fantastic?! (Jane Churchill for Cowtan & Tout) It's fun and elegant! If I could transport myself into this space, I would in a heartbeat! To read the story behind the cool and relaxing space, visit At Home in Arkansas. And for Tobi's tips, go here! Have a great weekend!

Mark J. Williams

Holy guacamole, have you ever seen a vaulted ceiling like this?! Talk about impact! The spectacular space was designed by Los Angeles based designer Mark J. Williams. I've never seen a bed so beautifully detailed as this one either. Actually all the furniture here is incredible. I believe it was all custom designed by Mark. He's been designing furniture for clients for many years, but recently launched Alton House to make his line available to the public. Every piece is exquisite in design, but most importantly, I hear it's comfortable too! See the rest of this beautiful English Beaux-Arts home here!
